Brent Kach, Cherokee County Landfill Manager, wants to remind everyone in Cherokee County that the deadline for residents to stop using plastic bags for recycling materials was January 1, 2022. Paper bags can be used still but no grocery bags or plastic bags will be excepted for recycling. You can put plastic bags in your garbage, or take your plastic grocery bags back to the grocery store for them to recycle they have containers for you to drop them off into. You can use a garbage container marked with a Large “R” written on it and put your recycling in them loose.
